August 2011 Calendar of Events

Dear Mike,

My nine-year-old dog was recently diagnosed with cancer. The vet has said that it is terminal. Her health has been declining for the last couple of years without an obvious explanation, so this news was not entirely surprising, but I do feel sad about what is happening. What is the best way for me to look at this situation?

Sincerely,

Sad Doggy Parent

Dear Sad Doggy Parent,

I decided to use The Jungian Tarot by Robert Wang to answer your question. To find out more about what is occurring in your situation, the card the Tarot chose is the Fool. The first thing that goes through my awareness as I look at this card is that you would benefit from keeping an open mind and seeing life as a journey, just as the Fool does in this card. The white tights on the man in this card suggest a purity of intention that reminds us life is a mystical experience. The serpent coiled around the egg suggests endings are new beginnings. The sun like figure within the circle suggests being open and emotionally available to what is occurring with your dog. Allow yourself the closeness and the experience of the feelings associated with this news. The cat like figure in the card suggests taking comfort in another animal.

The card the Tarot chose to describe the best way to look at this situation is Judgment. As I look at this card, what I intuit is that your dog is being called home. The circle in the bottom of this card suggests we are complete when we realize there is a balance to all things. Our existence on Earth is meant to be temporary. By understanding all beings live on beyond their death, you can find comfort and peace. Your dog’s spirit lives on even if her body does not. The best way to look at this situation is to witness what is happening without becoming overly attached to it. Find calm and center yourself.

The card the Tarot chose to describe what would be most helpful to do to take care of yourself in this situation is the Sun. Getting out in the sun (literally) and getting out into nature will help you rejuvenate. The child’s presence in this card suggests you consider adopting again. Remind yourself you can handle what is occurring. Feel the abundance of positive energy around you. The child’s hands reaching up suggest prayer or meditation could assist you with caring for yourself.

Dear Mike,

I have been looking for love, but it just never seems to work out for me. I was in a long-term relationship some years back, but this relationship did not work out. I really would like to settle down with a nice guy, but all the guys I meet just want to be friends. How can I meet the man of my dreams?

Sincerely,

Looking for Love

Dear Looking for Love,

Since the quest for love is an archetypal one, I decided to use The New Mythic Tarot Deck by Juliet Sharman-Burke and Liz Greene. The card the Tarot chose to show you what is getting in the way of meeting the man of your dreams is the Three of Swords Reversed. You were hurt by a lover in the past, most likely the man you were in a long-term relationship with some years back. You felt stabbed in the heart while you were in a vulnerable position as this relationship broke down. It has been hard to let this hurt come to the surface and be healed. You may not even be aware of the full impact it has had on you.

The card the Tarot chose to illustrate what you could do to get around this barrier is the Six of Wands Reversed. Letting go of the need to prove that you “have it all together” after what had happened with this relationship is suggested. It is okay for you to acknowledge the deep pain of this experience to your trusted friends and family. By talking with them about the hurt you feel for what happened, healing will occur. When this healing occurs, it will set up the vibration for you to attract Mr. Right into your life.

The card the Tarot chose to show the outcome of you following through with opening to others about the hurt you have experienced is the Knight of Swords Reversed. Keep in mind that vulnerability is not a weakness but just demonstrates openness to others. By sharing your pain with others, you will come to the realization that you do not have to continue to work so hard to find Mr. Right. An easing up of the desire to pursue Mr. Right will be the outcome of acknowledging to others the hurt you have experienced. It is just this kind of take-it-or-leave-it approach to relationships that will attract Mr. Right into your life.

Hi Everyone-Due to the Christmas and New Year’s Holidays, I’m going to put the Walking the Path of the Inner Sun blog on hiatus.  I’ll be back with more posts on 1/11/10.

Wishing you a holiday season filled with peace, joy, and love,

Mike

As channeled by my master teacher, Jordann: Everyone must be aware and embrace their sense of peace.  To be visible light within the darkness of everyday life.  Bring this light into further existence and extend it to others.  You may think I am being metaphorical or figurative in discussing this, but I am not.  I am telling you that you have the capacity to extend light to others.  Peace is a natural outcome of the extension of this light.  You are a light transformer, a light bearer, who is brought to the earth to extend peace.  So do this task now.  Take it with you throughout your day.  For where this more light, there is more possibilities.

As channeled by my master teacher, Jordann: Notice and be at peace with the world, just as it is, for in this space you are open to all.  Being open to all means being open to each experience, as it affects our senses, and having these senses send this information to the mind.  Accepting and embracing these sensory experiences and then letting them go sets the foundation for living a life in the flow of existence, in the harmony of the Divine.  Allow yourself the joy and light of experience, and then let each and every experience go so that you may open to the next.  This is living a life with an open heart chakra.

As channeled by my master teacher, Jordann: Be at peace within the oneness of the Divine for we are all one despite the difference in our looks and our choices.  These are but illusions created to give the semblance of difference so God might experience limitations or differences for we are awake within the dream of the human condition when we recognize this oneness.  The next time you might wish to speak to God, go out your door and then greet the first person you might.  When you might want to find God, move your head about the place you are in for all things, everything, comes from God.  Whether through his active permission or through the creations of the items he brings forth within this world.  So this might be your focus, on our oneness, on our commonness for when we see this, we understand that striking out at others is striking ourselves.

As channeled by my master teacher, Jordann: Be at peace within the oneness of the Divine, for this is your path, the path to the Divine within, the true self, the understanding of the divinity within yourself.  Peace and love can be found there, within the spirit of your Divinity.  Peace is our natural state, our constant state if only we could drop the illusions of attachments to anything other than God.  If we could do this, if we could only focus our attachment upon the Divine, then we could drop our own angering and fear about anything else.  For within this space, within this love, all becomes secondary, all becomes less important.  We become like smoothed rock, smoothed by the waters of God’s love, God’s spirit, so focus upon this and use this metaphor as you walk throughout your day.

Be at peace within joy and love.  Be at peace within existence for there is nothing other than this except our illusions, which are impermanent anyways so let things be as they re with patience and care and love within each moment.  When we fight against existence, we create our own distress and our illusions intensify.  This is seen in anger and fear and can also be seen in stress that we experience from day to day.  However, if we can remember that all these things are illusions, that all these things will pass, we can open ourselves to not take it so seriously for this is not the point of your lifetime, to take things seriously.  The point of this lifetime is to bring joy and peace within your experience in the human condition, and this is not found in any outside object, this is found in surrendering to existence.

Be a chorus amongst the masses to those in need.  Those not yet awake.  Be a beacon of light for those in the dark.  For this is your purpose, to bear light within the human condition.  Bearing light can be a difficult task for bearing light requires one to be conscious, but know the way is paved with God’s grace and love, which will support you in your troubles.  Be a vessel for peace, love, and light.  Be this beacon now.
